Make your own Geode Art

I love all things colorful and natural and am totally in love with the current geode trend. These are so hot in the home decor and DIY community right now and are used for everything from tables to coasters and even jewelry. The price tags that come with these geode art products are a little out of my reach. So I decided to figure out a way to paint my own. After some research on Google and Pinterest I came up with a technique that works for me.

I've been trying it with several different color schemes and truly love the results. I have created some wall art and some cards and plan to turn these prints into notebook covers too.

So on this episode of Elevenses with MZ I am going to show you how I painted my DIY Geode art and hope that you'll follow along for some inky painty fun! All you need for this fun project are some craft paints - I've used Martha Stewart, Folk Art and Apple Barrel, white card stock and thick card. This project is also perfect to do with any teens to decorate notebook covers and create room decor.

Here's the video tutorial:

So what do you think, will you give geode art a try? and if so what would you make with your painted prints?
